Maierbraeu in Altomunster

First of all, a big compliment to the host family for taking over the restaurant and the hotel in this difficult situation. We were of course curious about the “new” Meierbräu and wanted to have a nice Friday evening for two to end the working week nicely. But unfortunately it didn't go as we imagined it would. After arriving at the restaurant, we were greeted by an absolutely stressed-out service staff without any greeting or eye contact. Quickly grabbed the cards at the service point and ran. First we stood there and didn't know whether to come or not until the waitress called us quickly around the corner. The rushed way the waitress ran through the entire guest room was very uncomfortable because the tension somehow passed on to the guests. You were lucky if she had a look around. In addition to the "main service", there was a young gentleman who, apart from once, never went to the second part of the guest room. The guests in this section of the room just stayed on dry land. We wanted to order more drinks from him and he was also at the next table, but he didn't look at us. You have to mention that the guest room was not fully occupied due to the distance regulations (only every second table), so the capacities were not fully utilized. Then we continued with the meal. We ordered an onion roast and the fish. Unfortunately, the young service staff brought our roast beef to another table. As a result, the fish then probably stayed under the warming lamp for a long time. The fish was then delivered to our table with the freshly made roast beef, although it was absolutely clear that it was cold. He wasn't even lukewarm. He was cold! When we wanted to complain about this, the service staff knew immediately, without us having to carry it out further, and took it back. It is questionable why a dish is brought to the guest for almost 20 euros knowing full well that it is not edible. It was not possible to warm up the fish, so the dish was redone. Unfortunately, I had to eat my onion beef, which tasted very good, by myself. The fried potato portion could be a bit bigger here, because unfortunately I wasn't full. Just before I was done with my meat, the fish came to us at the table. Unfortunately, in the short time it took, all of the vegetables were burned on one side. Of course, it was arranged on the plate in such a way that it was not immediately noticeable, namely with the burnt side down. You kind of feel like you're being fooled. We would have liked to have ordered a dessert after our main course, but that was not possible. We made 5 attempts to draw attention to ourselves, but at some point we lost interest because none of the service staff paid us any attention. At a later point in time our waitress came and just asked my wife if she would like a coffee or an espresso as compensation for the meal campaign. That was very nice, but m. E. been more appropriate. Unfortunately, I was not asked whether I would also like a coffee in principle. I didn't want this for free, I just wanted to be asked. Summa Summarum: A visit to the restaurant doesn't just depend on the food, which, however, also had deficiencies, but also on the wait staff. Overall, I would not recommend the Maierbräu after this evening. To "take out" your stress on the guests like this is unprofessional. Disappointed and a bit annoyed, we went home without dessert.

Lady at the reception friendly. Eat good. Sitting in the room for 2 hours, the heating on five. And the room is still colder than a refrigerator. No trace of being cozy and cuddly when the outside temperature is minus two degrees.

So I don't know how you as the owner of the Bauerei Gaststätte can be so rude to other people and I haven't done anything wrong :(

Roast pork is not served in a Reindl. Apart from that, € 12.90 for a roast without a crust, warmed up and with a small pile of coleslaw is a cheek. Better go to Kappler for dinner. The same price, but worlds better in quality. The beer is of course great.

Very committed host family who had the courage to start over with the historic brewery inn during "Corona". Hats off! Friendly team! Good and trustworthy hygiene concept. Menu adapted to "Corona conditions", which has something to offer for every taste: Bavarian home-style, vegetarian, salads, fish, bread rolls, desserts, ... Very tasty and good portions. Price / performance is right. Smart beer selection (including beer cocktails!) But also in the other segments. Good ideas on: daily menu, schnitzel day and burger evening ("All you can eat"). Keep it up!!

Nice tavern 🤩 Beer tastes good, unfortunately it was a little bad poured. We hope it was a mistake and will surely convince us again on another visit and would also like to try the delicacies 😃

There was a church fair and the food was very good. The warning levels for Corona change daily and everyone there has implemented it well. I don't know whether there was too much activity or incorrect coordination, but the duck and goose weren't as hot as one would wish. Despite everything, the taste was very good. It is well known that one does not talk about money, but the good food is no longer the cheapest and compared to the previous tenant the prices have already been raised cleanly. Everyone was super nice and friendly, the school really has the best food in the area. Of course, the school is supplied by the host and my children are enthusiastic too.

Hotel room super clean and very nicely decorated. Parking lots available. The food is delicious, we decided to eat here every night. A compliment to the cook & the super nice service. We will book this hotel again, should we go back to Munich. ♡

CATASTROPHE! NOTHING got better! I have known "Maierbräu" for many years. I was able to get to know the restaurant as a quaint place with good service and fair prices. A few years ago there was a change of tenant and the Maierbräu went downhill. Bad service and questionable value for money. Then in summer 2020 another change of tenant. High hopes - which unfortunately were not fulfilled at all. Absolutely unfriendly, rude and inattentive service! We were snapped at because we wanted to pay by card or separately. Then wrong invoicing. Again outrageous behavior of the service. Incredible! I am not a person who complains the same about everything everywhere and I also know that the catering job is certainly not easy. But that's not possible! Thank goodness there is another brew in Altomünster!

Simply a good Bavarian economy. Service very friendly. Food was excellent. I can only recommend it

Unfortunately, the level has fallen since the change of tenant. The duck I ordered tasted old, was partly already dried and was served in a ridiculously large tin bowl. The potato dumplings weren't fresh either. A schnitzel Wiener Art was tasty and the waiting time was short. The waitress tried hard, but could not convey any professionalism. The prices seem too high for the quality delivered. All in all, there is still a lot of room for improvement here, but not a complete failure. Therefore just 3 stars.

Yesterday, Sunday, our first visit, service good, food had half a duck dumpling red cabbage, my companion schnitzel with homemade French fries cranberries everything was more than full, beer tasty and good, what more could you want, a small, cozy beer garden that makes you sit happily a little longer than planned all in all, we'll be back

Were there today. In terms of taste, all dishes were good. There is a star deduction for the fact that the dishes are very small. Unfortunately, there is also no large selection of starters or desserts.

Very tasty food and friendly, brisk service. However, we, the elderly couple, do not want to be used by young people and landlords who are completely strangers to us. You are also spoken to strangers in Bavaria.

Very tasty food, great location and the beer, of course, delicious. But when I read a few of the reviews here, I laugh myself broken. Of course, after such a new opening with new staff or something similar, the team may have to get used to it. But we were super satisfied and will be back.

No comparison to before! Not authentic! Things have been going downhill since the tenant change. Tafelspitz so-so, Brauereipfanderl was served carelessly in a huge baking dish that was way too big. Kasspatzen without a whistle ... Even if we had the first table in the inn, we were served very late. Inappropriate clothing for hosts (jeans, shirt and flip-flops) ... totally chaotic ... unfortunately you can tell that they have no gastronomic experience. Beer delicious, but not enough for a second visit. What a shame!!

You shouldn't come to Maierbräu if you are thirsty! Unfortunately I had the experience for the second time yesterday. No wonder when you consider that there is no bar waiter and that the two waitresses, because they are quite disorganized, make life difficult for themselves. There is also room for improvement in the kitchen. From the menu of the day I ordered the chicken leg on ratatouille vegetables with rosemary potatoes. The meat wasn't badly seasoned, but it was still quite bloody red on the bone. The vegetables consisted mostly of carrots and yellow beets and had nothing really to do with ratatouille. Only the rosemary potatoes were ok. But where are the alternatives in Altomünster if the second brewery restaurant fails to publish its opening times correctly on the Altomünster website?

Nice hotel with a nice staff! Great food and a good breakfast in the morning. THE BEDS ARE TO HARD THOUGH! And to add the bed sounded like he was about to collapse on me... (this is the only fixing point.)

What a great traditional Bavarian restaurant! What we love about this place is that it not the typical tourist restaurant, but the real traditional Bavarian place for locals. Very friendly staff, great prices, and the most amazing food! The breakfast is by far the best we had while in Munich! Well done!

Really a complete positive experience. Very kind people, rooms clean and comfortable, location very very nice in a quite town in the middle of Bavaria. I have been supported for a problem Ì had. Definetly ++++++

Wonderful! Staff was great. The hotel was VERY clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was perfect and was great every morning. We also had many restaurants and brew pubs to visit. It also had easy access to Munich, on train. Perfect small town experience. The beir was very good too! Thank you Tony! Nice restaurant in traditional atmosphere with a nice service. One star misses as our meals came within with 15min sparetime. So, the others had to wait while I was eating. The other star misses as there have not been any small meals (Brotzeit) available until 2pm. So, I was forced to take either a too big meal or to get along with a soup. The rest was fine.
